Calgary recruit opts for home

Calgary defensive end joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class.

Steven Finot will be playing in front of the hometown crowd at the CIS level in future years to come.

The 6’2, 253 pound defensive end has committed to the University of Calgary Dinos.  Finot will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

Ultimately, the strength of both the academic and football programs played a major factor in the defensive standout’s decision to commit to the Dinos.

“University of Calgary has always been a top contender while I was making my university decision,” elaborated Finot.  “The team is very strong and competitive and the coaching staff does a great job developing their players into top contenders.”

“Along with the football program being one of the best, the education program was always an important factor. University of Calgary offers a great business program and this was very appealing to me. Staying home with the support of family and friends, along with the 5th Quarter Association supporting the players through every step of their university experience has made my decision that much easier.”

During his time with the Pride, he guided the team to three consecutive Provincial Tier 1 Championship titles.
