Calgary recruit picks UBC

Shea Priest is moving out to the West Coast to commence his CIS career.

This past weekend, the 5’11, 190 pound slotback/cornerback from Calgary, Alberta signed with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.  Priest will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

“I committed to UBC mostly because it’s a team on the upswing, so I can see myself developing lots with them,” explained Priest of his decision.  “Also, they have one of if not the best coach in the CIS.”

“There football program is very supportive in regards to academics so I can see myself leaving with a good degree.”

Priest is completing his final season with Centennial Coyotes of the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA).  In 2015, he has caught eight interceptions and scored 11 touchdowns with the Coyotes.

Additionally, Priest has suited up for the Calgary Colts of the Calgary Area Midget Football Association (CAMFA).
