
With one game still to be played, the Cambridge Wolverine teams went 5-2 in semi-final playoff action last weekend. All five teams will play championship games in Wentworth this coming weekend.
In the Tyke Division, the Red Wolverines continue to be undefeated after beating Guelph 14-6 on Saturday. They will kick-off in Wentworth on Saturday at 11:00 against the White Division Green Wolverines who beat Mississauga 35-7. The White Division Gold Wolverines lost to Brantford 18-12.
In the Atom Cambridgeβs last team standing, the White Division Wolverines lost to Hamilton 19-0. That completes a solid 6-3-1 season that saw the Wolverines not lose in the first five games and seven games into the season they were 5-1-1.
In Peewee football, Cambridge will be represented by the White Division Green Wolverines, who defeated Twin Cities 7-0. The Peewee Greenβs are 9-1 on the season, and hope to hit the 10 win mark as well as the championship on Sunday morning at 9:00.
In the Bantam age group, the Wolverines are sending two teams to the finals, with a possibility of a third. The Red Divisions defeated Brantford 14-12, and will play Mississauga Sunday afternoon at 3:00. In the White Division βBβ bracket Championship, the Gold Wolverines will be battling the Brampton Bulldogs after beating Niagara 28-0 last weekend. The game is Saturday afternoon at 5:00
The White Division Green Wolverines game against Wentworth was postponed on Sunday, and was played Wednesday night at Debt Freedom Field. At press time, no score was available. If the Bantam Greenβs defeat the powerhouse Wentworth squad they would face off against Guelph in the βAβ bracket championship game on Sunday.
The championship games will be played at McRae Fields at the Beverly Community Centre on Hwy8 at Rockton. There is a fee of $2.00 for all spectators.
