University of Manitoba 

The Manitoba Bisons have signed a local prospect. Grant Park’s Seth Chizda has agreed to join the Heard in 2022.

“I picked the U of M because it’s very nice to be at your hometown university. They have a great facility, as well as great coaches and players,” he says.

Seth will be enrolling in the Faculty of Kinesiology. From age 7-13, he played football for the Crescentwood Grizzlies (which are now the Corydon Comets). Seth has spent the last four years with the Grant Park Pirates of the Winnipeg High School Football League.

His goals at the next level of football are to put on muscle and to gain speed so he can be a better football player, and the Bisons as a team are able to win a Vanier Cup. The Bisons new defensive back stands at 6’, 160lbs.

U SPORTS CLASS 2022 COMMITS

A wide receiver from the CJFL has joined the Manitoba Bisons. DeShawn LeJour will make his way to a U Sports team after spending time with the Edmonton Huskies of the CJFL.

At 6’4, 215lbs the Bisons will be getting a big target for their quarterback. In his final season with the Huskies, De Shawn put up a respectable 32 catches for 603 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The University of Manitoba Bisons have added to their defense with the singing of CFC150 DT Jordin Boucher.

Jordin comes to the Bisons from Murdoch MacKay high school in Winnipeg. He should become a force on the Bisons defensive line at 6’4, 245lbs. During his final season with the Clansmen, Jordin recorded 50 tackles, 9 tackles for losses, and 3.5 sacks.

An outside linebacker from North Vancouver will make his way to Manitoba in 2022. Sean Cullen will be leaving Argyle Secondary and heading east to study Kinesiology at the U of M. Sean stands at 6’2, 200lbs. He played high school football for the Argyle Pipers (BCSSFA).

The Bisons have signed another prospect from Vancouver, B.C. DB Owen Merry is on his way to the prairies in 2022. Owen was also a member of the Argyle Pipers (BCSSFA). He weighs in at 5’11, 190lbs.

The University of Manitoba is welcoming a new defensive back to their team. At 6’3, 175lbs Breyden Parker should make a great addition to the Herd’s backfield.

Breyden played football in Thunder Bay, Ontario for the Hammarsjkold Vikings (SSSAA), and plans on enrolling in business at the U of M.

University of Alberta

The University of Alberta has made an addition to their defensive line. CFC100 DT Cale Strom will wear green and gold in 2022.

“I chose Alberta because I really see myself fitting in there, and Edmonton is a place that feels like home to me,” he states.

Cale will be pursuing either a Kinesiology or Business degree.

During his years playing football Cale has suited up for two different high school teams, the Chinook Coyotes (ASAA) and LCI Rams. Cale has also played for U16/U18 team Alberta, and he was named to the CFC Prospect Game final roster twice.

Cale should be a threat for opposing offensive lines at 6’4, 300lbs.

“My goals for the U of A are to be an all-Canadian and hopefully help the team win a championship,” he replies.

University of Calgary

A new quarterback has joined the Calgary Dinos. Roy Tanwani will be making the trek from Edmonton to Calgary in 2022.

Roy spent the last four years with the CFC50 Harry Ainlay Titans (MEHSAA). He weighs in at 6 ’1, 185lbs, and earned Rookie of the Year in 2019.
