Carabins “best team in Canada for the future” says CEGEP recruit

CEGEP kicker joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class.

Michael Arpin is hungry to win a championship.

Consequently, the 6’0, 190 pound kicker from Drummondville, Quebec has committed to the Montreal Carabins.  Arpin will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

“I committed to Montreal because of its growing talent,” commented Arpin about his commitment.  “The way they played and developed in the last couple of years has given me a bigger envy to join this team.”

“I lost during my CEGEP career and I want to win championships for the next years.”

Moreover, members of the Carabins coaching staff played a significant role in the Drummondville kicker’s decision to commit to the team as did the atmosphere surrounding the team.

“Also, my partnership with my coach Denis Boisclair since 2013 played an extreme role for my decision,” elaborated Arpin.  “When I went to see the Carabins last year, I fell in love with the ambience into the stadium.”

“Fans were the best that I have never seen, and seemed really warm. When I visited for the first time with coach Danny Desriveaux, the special teams coach, I felt like it was the best place for me.  The facilities were totally insane and really bigger than I thought.”

This past fall, Arpin completed his CEGEP career with Division 2 team, Drummondville Voltigeurs.  Previous to the Voltigeurs, the kicker suited up for his high school team at College Saint-Bernard.

Ultimately, Arpin is thrilled to join a team that is committed to a tradition of excellence and winning.  He is looking forward to contributing to that winning culture for the next four-five years.

“Even if I was biased since the first day that I went to a game, I think that I considered the few other teams that scouted me but it was not what I was looking for,” expressed Arpin.  “I always knew that if the Carabins wanted me, it would be the place where I’ll play.”

“All of the coaches seemed very interested in their jobs and looked like they had a lot to bring to me for my journey there. Head Coach Danny Maciocia and what he did for the last five years also convinced me that the Carabins is the , like the Rouge et Or did.”
