Ravens commit excited to be part of young team

Carleton adds an out-of-province commit to their Class of 2018.

The Carleton Ravens are still one of the youngest teams in the OUA, and Dhandre Weekes, a wide receiver from Champlain College Lennoxville, wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I chose to play for Carleton because it’s a young program and I want to be apart of it! The facilities are great. The players and coaches are great, and it felt like the best fit for me personally (and) academically considering their prestigious law program,” Weekes said, who is interested in taking law.

“(The) coaching staff is a great group of guys and have a great chemistry together considering the amount of changes they’ve had since starting the program,” he added.

Up until grade nine, Weekes played with A-Ma-Baie football before joining the Selwyn House School Gryphons in high school. Standing at 6’0, 190lbs, he spent three seasons with the Champlain College Lennoxville Cougars (RSEQ Division 1) where he was a two-time Bol d’Or champion in 2015 and 2017.

“I would like to thank Selwyn House and Coach Maurovich for helping set the foundation for me academically and athletically,” Weekes said. “I would not be the man that I am today without their help!”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
