CEGEP DIVISION 1 RECAP (6): Cougars, CNDF keep pace at top, Cloutier, Bois & muliple #CFC100 standout performances

Guillaume Conraud –Ares scored a touchdown and rushed for 130 yards on 26 carries as the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars kept their perfect record intact with a 24-8 win over Andre-Grasset Phenix on Saturday night in CEGEP Division 1 action.

#CFC100 Marc Antoine Pivin tallied a major and racked up 70 yards on four receptions in the victory.

#CFC100 Michael Arruda completed 10 passes in 24 passes for 204 yards and a passing touchdown.  Vincent Blanchard added a field goal and two PAT’s for the Cougars.

Samuel Broderique led the Cougars defence with a sack as well as five solo and two assisted sacks.  #CFC100 Adam Auclair caught an interception has two solo and five assisted tackles.  #CFC100 Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund racked up four tackles for a loss and three sacks.  Khadeem Pierre and Alexandre LeBreton each caught an interception.  Additionally, Alan Cimankinda, Jeremy Kapelanski Lamoureux, Nicolas Theriault, Michael Broderique and Cheikhe Sidy Sow each recorded a sack.

As for the Phenix, Samuel Makwanda scored the lone touchdown.  Bastien Phaneuf-Thibault amassed 93 yards on 11 receptions.

Pivot Pierre-Olivier Potvin completed 27 passes in 46 attempts for 263 passing yards in the loss.

On defence, Bruno-Philippe Desfosses-Simard recorded a sack, three solo and 12 assisted touchdowns. Guilluame Beland, Vincent Morissette and Antoine Epstein each caught an interception.  Moreover, Philippe Lemieux-Cardinal, Charles Graton, and Axel-Etienne Yanibada each recorded a sack.

CAMPUS NOTRE DAME DE FOY (CNDF) 54, MONTMORENCY NOMADES 27:

Under Friday Night Lights at Montmorency,#CFC100 CLASS 2015 Alexixs Cote scored a touchdown and rushed for 155 yards on 20 carries as visiting Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF) defeated hosts Nomades 54-27.

Alexandre Gailloux tallied a major and amassed 122 yards on three receptions in the win.  Jeremy Sauvageau, Chadrick Tchanga Henry and Luca Perrier each added a score.

David Pelletier completed 15 passes in 25 attempts and 284 yards and three passing touchdowns for CNDF.  David Cote added a field goal and was successful on seven conversion attempts.

Tchad Ayotte recorded two sacks, two tackles for a loss as well as six solo and two assisted tackles to guide the defence.  Anthony Leclerc caught an interception while Yvan Hakizimana recorded sack.

Felix Laflamme tallied two majors and racked up 144 yards on five receptions for the Nomades.  #CFC100 Bruno Labelle scored a touchdown amassed 108 yards on seven receptions while Tristan Fiske-Casault added a major and had 105 yards on eight receptions in the loss.

Zachary Cloutier completed 28 passes in 48 attempts for 419 yards and four passing touchdowns.

On defence, Max Henley Philogene had five solo and four assisted tackles.  Npinga Nehemie Tshisungu recorded a sack, tackle for a loss as well as four solo and six assisted tackles for CNDF.

Samuel Cameron

LEVIS-LAUZON FAUCONS 39, VIEUX-MONTREAL SPARTIATES 24:

On Saturday night at Levis Lauzon, Samuel Cameron scored three touchdowns and rushed for 87 yards on 20 carries as the host Faucons cruised to a 39-24 win over Viuex-Montreal Spartiates.

Antoine Mailhot and Nicolas Boissoneault each tallied a major while Jonathan Breton Robert amassed 136 yards on 11 receptions for the Faucons.

Pivot Francis Bois completed 29 passes in 45 attempts for 357 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.  Robert Cote added a field goal and five PAT’s.

Jean Philippe Levesque recorded 11 solo and two assisted sacks for the Faucons defence.  Frederic Marois and Guillaume Trottier each caught an interception.

As for the Spartiates, Dynell Pierre scored on a 95 yard touchdown reception while Danny Debrosse tallied a major and racked up 55 yards on four receptions.

#CFC100 Frederic Paquette-Perrault completed 10 passes on 25 attempts for 241 yards and two passing touchdowns.  Benjamin Lies added a field goal and three PAT’s.

On defence, Enock Makonzo recorded a sack, two tackles for a loss as well as 11 solo and four assisted tackles.  Marc-Darley Casseus had three tackles for a loss and a sack while Felix Pelletier added a sack.

EDOUARD-MONTPETIT LYNX 35, LIMOILOU TITANS 25:

At Gerard-Chiquette on Saturday afternoon, Guillaume Hamelin tallied two majors and had 46 yards on two receptions as the Edouard-Montpetit Lynx scored a 35-23 victory over Limoilou Titans.

Philippe Desjardins also added a touchdown.   Rida Malki rushed for 97 yards on 14 carries while Jeremy L’Allier had 71 yards on nine receptions.

Tomas Concilio added two field goals and two PAT’s.

Judzer Paul had six tackles while Oliver Pilotto and Jeremy De Villiers-Riel each caught an interception.

Christopher Charest scored a touchdown and racked up 45 yards on three receptions for the Titans.  William Flamand and Marc-Antoine Hamel each added a major.

Felix Hamel completed 18 passes in 36 attempts for 203 yards and two passing touchdowns.  Christophe Renaud added two PAT’s.

On the Titans defence, both Nicolas Malenfant and Bosake-Emmanuel Soku each registered six solo tackles. Anthony Guay had three tackles for a loss and a sack.  Oliver Boulet recorded a sack in the loss.

FX GARNEAU ELANS 22, VANIER CHEETAHS 19:

On Saturday night at Vanier College, William Tremblay-Harnois scored two touchdowns and rushed for 166 yards on 36 carries as the visiting FX-Garneau needed overtime to defeat Vanier Cheetahs 22-19.

Mathieu Blanchette tallied a major for the Elans.  Jacob Doucet Buyere had 67 yards on six receptions while Louis Tardif added two field goals and two PAT’s in the win.

Frederic Pongo recorded a sack as well as 10 solo and six assisted sacks. Thomas Blouin recorded three sacks while William Pettersen added two sacks.  Nicolas Bedard caught an interception for the Elans.

As for the Cheetahs, Qaysie Gordon-Maule scored a touchdown and rushed for 130 yards on 12 carries.  Khalil Kerr tallied a major and rushed for 100 yards on 15 carries in the loss. Luis Amoruso added a field goal and a PAT.

#CFC100 Brian Harelimana had three tackles for a loss, 12 solo and 10 assisted tackles to lead the defence.  Kean Harelimana had four tackles for a loss while Darren Kyeremeh added three.  Furthermore, Jizreel Botat and Luc-Ralph Lazarre each caught an interception for the Cheetahs.
