CEGEP Division 1 RECAP (8): #CFC100 Arruda & Berglund shine in Cougars win; Spartiates, Faucons, Phoenix & Cheetahs victorious

Guillaume Conraud Ares tallied three majors (two rushing, one receiving) and amassed 140 yards on five receptions as the Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars cruised to a 48-11 win over Montmorency Nomades on Saturday afternoon at Coulter Field in CEGEP Division 1 Week 8 action.

Thomas Bertrand-Hudon scored a touchdown and rushed for 174 yards on 20 carries for the Cougars.

Michael Arruda 2014 2

#CFC100 pivot Michael Arruda completed nine passes in 18 attempts for 258 passing yards, 39 rushing yards on six carries and two touchdowns (one passing, one receiving).Ā  Vincent Blanchard added three field goals and five PATā€™s.

#CFC100 Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund racked up three tackles for a loss as well as three solo and five assisted tackles to guide the Cougars defence.Ā  Michael Brodrique caught an interception and had two tackles for a loss.Ā  Alain Cimankinda recorded two sacks while Samuel Broderique had one.

With this win, the Cougars remain perfect this season with an 8-0 record.

VIEUX-MONTREAL SPARTIATES 23, CAMPUS NOTRE-DAME DE FOY 19:

Dynell Pierre scored a touchdown and rushed for 104 yards on 26 carries as Vieux-Montreal Spartiates escaped with a 23-19 victory over Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF) at Seminaire Saint-Francois on Saturday afternoon.

Julien Bourassa tallied a major and had 27 yards on two receptions.Ā  #CFC100 Frederic Paquette-Perrault completed 13 passes in 25 attempts for 140 yards and a passing touchdown. Benjamin Lies added three field goals and two PATā€™s in the win.

On defence, Enock Makonzo led the way with an assisted and six solo tackles for the Spartiates.Ā  Vincy Biande caught two interceptions while Antoine Mongeau had one.Ā  Moreover, Malick Joseph caught an interception while Felix Pelletier had a tackle for a loss.

As for CNDF, Vincent Forbes-Mombleau (59 yards on three receptions) and Jeremy Savageau (41 yards on two receptions) each added a score. David Cote added two field goals and a PAT in the loss.

Alexandre Pare registered seven solo and four assisted tackles as well as two tackles for a loss for the CNDF defence.Ā  Samuel Maranda-Bizeau added three tackles for a loss while Tchad Ayotte recorded a tackle.Ā  Christophe Bouchard caught an interception.

LEVIS-LAUZON FAUCONS 58, EDOUARD-MONTPETIT LYNX 7:

At Edouard-Montpetit on Saturday afternoon, Francis Bois completed 24 passes in 34 attempts for 386 yards and five touchdowns to guide the visiting Levis-Lauzon to a 58-7 rout of the hosts Lynx.

Antoine Mailhot had three touchdowns and 125 yards on four receptions for the Faucons.Ā  Nicolas Boissonneault tallied a major and rushed for 117 yards on 11 carries.Ā  Vincent Breton Robert (100 yards on seven carries) and Jonathan Breton Robert (67 yards on four receptions) each added a score.

Louis Charles Moisan added a field goal and was successful on seven conversion attempts.

On the Faucons defence, Jean-Philippe Levesque amassed three tackles for a loss, seven solo and nine assisted tackles.

Rida Malki tallied the lone major for the Lynx and Tomas Concilio was successful on the conversion attempt.Ā  Olivier Pilotto had a tacklefor a loss, three solo and seven assisted tackles to lead the Lynx defence.Ā  Leonardo Guerra-Villegas caught an interception in the loss.

ANDRE-GRASSET PHENIX 32, FX-GARNEAU ELANS 18:

On Saturday evening at FX-Garneau, Samuel Makwanda dashed into the end zone for two majors and rushed for 107 yards on 22 carries as the visiting Andre-Grasset Phenix coasted to a 32-18 win over the hosts Elans.

Francois Rocheleau added a score and 69 yards on four receptions in the victory. Shawn Lafortune also scored a touchdown.Ā  Pierre Olivier Potvin completed 18 passes in 24 attempts for 196 yards and two passing touchdowns.Ā  Bradley Santos added a field goal and three PATā€™s.

Bruno-Philippe Desfosses-Simard recorded a sack, tackle for a loss as well as seven solo and three assisted tackles for the Phenix defence. Christian Jodoin had two tackles for a loss while Gabriel Morel and Vincent Morissette each caught an interception.Ā  Furthermore, Philippe Lemieux-Cardinal and Jodoin each recorded a sack.

For the Elans, William Harnois-Tremblay scored a touchdown and rushed for 147 yards on 24 carries.Ā  Mathieu Soucy also added a major and had 95 yards on six receptions.Ā  Louis Tardif added a field goal and a PAT.

Emile Chenevert recorded a sack, a tackle for a loss and six solo tackles. Thomas Blouin racked up three tackles for a loss and Philippe Ouellet added two.Ā  Blouin also recorded two sacks while Didier Lacombe caught an interception in the loss.

VANIER CHEETAHS 45, LIMOILOU TITANS 11:

At Vanier College under Saturday Night Lights, Kean Harelmana and Darren Kyeremeh each caught an interception and sprinted into the end zone for majors as the hosts Cheetahs upended visiting Limoilou Titans 45-11.

Khalil Kerr and Peace Tshilombo-Kambala each added a touchdown in the win.

#CFC100 Brian Harelimana led the Cheetahs defence as he recorded three sacks as well as 10 solo and nine assisted tackles.Ā  Kean Harelimana and Philippe Magloire each added a tackle for a loss.Ā  Rahda Kramdi caught an interception.Ā  #CFC100 Tomas Jack-Kurdyla recorded three sacks while Benedicte Cayo had two.Ā  Christos Aifantis also had a sack.

As for the Titans, Mathieu Robitaille amassed 78 yards on four receptions.Ā  Christophe Renaud added three field goals.

Frederic Gagnon caught three interceptions while Maxime Paul added a tackle for a loss for the Titans defence.
