CEGEP Division 1: Spartiates & Cougars to meet in Bol D’Or Championship

Vieux Montreal Spartiates and Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars will meet in the Bol Dā€™Or Championship on Saturday evening after earning semifinal victories.

CFC TOP 100 Louis-Mathieu Normandin tallied three majors and amassed 123 receiving yards on seven catches to lead the Spartiates to a 42-11 win over Montmorency Nomades in one semfinal.

Benoit Gagnon-Brousseau also scored a touchdown for the victors.

Spartiates pivot Hugo Henderson had 13 completions in 20 attempts for 177 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, 139 rushing yards and ran into the end zone twice to power the offensive unit.

Antoine Mongeau led the defense with 8.5 tackles (seven solo, three assisted). Mathieu Betts recorded two sacks while Tresor Buama-Mafuta added one.Ā  Pierre Alexandre Rochefort caught two interceptions in the semifinal.

As for the Nomades, Kevin Dubois tallied a major on a kickoff return.Ā  Stephen Louis-Phanor logged in 104 receiving yards.Ā  On defense, Jethro Sainry (five solo, two assisted) and Walid Batassa (six solo) each registered six tackles a piece while Charles Schneider caught an interception in a losing cause.

In the other semifinal, Cedric Joseph scored two touchdowns and rushed for 217 yards on 20 carries to lead the Cougars to a 32-13 victory over FX-Garneau Elans.

CFC TOP 100 Tomy Duperron and James Arenas-Michel also tallied majors for the Cougars.

Defensively, CFC TOP 100 Cedric Lussier-Roy registered 10.5 tackles (nine solo, three assisted) and recorded a sack.Ā  CFC TOP 100 Jonathan Boissoneault-Glaou recorded two sacks and caught an interception.Ā  Jeremy Magan-France and Frederick Robitaille each recorded a sack.Ā  Moreover, Landri Akeu-Atsa, Trevell Hylton and Xavier Gilbert each caught an interception in the game.
