John Abbott College is looking for a dynamic leader who is committed to guide the Islander football program as they continue to compete in the Reseau Sport Γ‰tudiant de QuΓ©bec (RSEQ) Division 2 league. John Abbott has a record 6200 daytime students, a brand new multi-use synthetic turf field and will open a new $41 million Science Centre in the summer of 2012.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years related coaching experience and will be responsible for hiring of the coaching staff, developing a year round training program, running the spring and fall camps, and recruiting quality student-athletes to John Abbott. The candidate will also promote and support student-athlete academic success, develop a team fundraising program and liaise with the Sports & Recreation Department regarding all aspects of the program. The ideal coach will also be a solid role model within the College community and enjoy good relations with the Islander Football Alumni.

We are looking for someone with an outstanding record of communication, strong leadership skills and who has a passion for the game of football at the collegiate level. A minimum of Level 2 certification of the National Coaching Certification Program is preferred. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered but a commitment to attaining the minimum level 2 will be required. Strong verbal communication skills in both English and French are necessary.
