CEGEP recruit opts to stay home, signs with Carabins

Montreal linebacker joins Vanier Cup Champions’ 2015 class.

Xavier Prevost was seeking the best opportunity to excel on the field as well as the classroom.

He found it with the Vanier Cup Champions, Montreal Carabins.  Recently, the 6’0, 235 pound linebacker from Montreal, Quebec signed with the RSEQ team for the 2015 season.

“First of all, it was to compete with the best team in Canada but also the academic program was really good for me (adaptation scolaire),” explained Prevost of his decision.  “What influenced my decision was the opportunity to stay close to my family and friends.”

“The coaching staff and work ethic of the players convinced me to choose Montréal because it’s the place for me to get to another level mentally and physically!”

Prevost completed his CEGEP career with Division 1 team Montmorency Nomades.  This past season, he was named the Team MVP as well as Nomades Special Teams MVP.
