CEGEP recruit ecstatic to work with #CFC100 pivot, OC Groulx at McGill (VIDEO)

CEGEP receiver joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class.

Vincent Alessandrini feels as though he has made the best investment when it comes to his gridiron and academic future.

Last week, the 6’1, 190 pound receiver from Laval, Quebec committed to the McGill Redmen.  Alessandrini will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

“The reason why I’ve made my commitment to McGill is due to the fact that I am not only making a decision in football for the next five years but a decision for the years after football as well,” explained Alessandrini of his decision.  “Attending a superior academic institute like McGill definitely played a huge role in my decision making.”

“In my opinion, McGill will not only provide me with an outstanding education but it will bring forth the necessary guidelines in order to better myself as an individual, a citizen in my community and as a football player.”

Being able to also create chemistry on offence with another new Redmen recruit excited the Quebec receiver.

“A major factor in my decision was “who will be my quarterback for the upcoming years?”,” elaborated Alessandrini.  “[#CFC100] Frederic Paquette-Perrault is a tremendous quarterback with whom I truly enjoyed playing with back in 2013 in the Football Canada Cup and I look forward to having him as my quarterback throughout university.”

Ultimately, the chance to work with the coaching staff is something that Alessandrini is looking forward to upon his arrival to the Redmen program.

“I truly believe in the McGill coaching staff and what they’re trying to do with the football program in which they have a vision of success,” expressed the Quebec offensive standout.  “Another factor in which influenced my decision was the offensive coordinator coach Benoit Groulx.”

“He has a tremendous reputation and has brought nothing but success in each offence he has coached. When I had sat down and watched film with him during my visit at McGill, that’s when I knew I must be in his offence, he is a guru of the offence.”

This season, Alessandrini has amassed 408 yards on 25 receptions (average of 16.3 yards per reception) with CEGEP Division 1 team, Vanier College Cheetahs.  Previous to the Cheetahs, the receiver suited up for Laval Liberty College Panthers.  Additionally, Alessandrini represented his province as a member of team Quebec at the 2013 Football Canada Cup in Moncton, New Brunswick.
