CEGEP recruit found winning formula with Carabins (VIDEO)

St. Agathe-Des-Monts defensive end joins Vanier Cup Champions

Antoine Fortin-Lefebvre wanted to go to a winning program.

Consequently, the 6’2, 252 pound defensive end from St. Agathe-Des-Monts, Quebec signed with Vanier Cup Champions, Montreal Carabins.Β  Fortin-Lefebvre will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

β€œI chose the Carabins over the other teams because of the professionalism and seriousness of the football program,” explained Fortin-Lefebvre of his decision.Β  β€œSt-Jean-Sur-Richelieu Geants is a team with a very good framing around its football program and I wanted to play for a team like that at the next level.”

β€œAfter, I won a championship with St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, I wanted to stay in a team that could win a Vanier Cup every year and the Carabins proved that this season!Β  The coaching staff is another reason why I chose this program.Β  The program has improved every year since Danny Maciocia has coached the team! I very like the defensive system and how the defensive end position is used in that system!”

Recently, Fortin-Lefebvre completed a successful stint with CEGEP Division 2 team, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Geants. This past season, the defensive end recorded two sacks, two tackles for a loss and registered 18 tackles.Β  In 2013, he racked up 36 tackles, six sacks and seven tackles for a loss.

This past November, the Geants won the Bol D’Or Championship.

Previous to the Geants, Fortin-Lefebvre suited up for the Saint-Stanislas Patriotes as well as the midget β€˜AAA’ Wildcats.
