CEGEP defensive lineman joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class.
Derek St-Cyr felt as though he got afforded a special chance that doesn’t come very often.
Recently, the 6’1, 235 pound defensive end from Montreal, Quebec seized the opportunity and committed to the McGill Redmen. St-Cyr will join the RSEQ team for the 2016 season.
“I chose McGill University due to its prestigious academic background and not everyone gets the opportunity to study there,” explained St-Cyr of his decision. “I’m confident in Coach Ron [Hilaire] and the rest of the coaching staff.”
“I trust that they will bring out the best in me.”
This fall, the defensive end will play his final season with CEGEP Division 3 team. Ahuntsic Indiens. Previous to the Indiens, St-Cyr suited up for the Sun Youth Hornets organization.
