CEGEP recruit gravitated towards McGill’s “constant evolution” (VIDEO)

CEGEP cornerback joins RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

Pier-Olivier Grenier has faith in the positive direction the McGill Redmen is headed towards in future years.

As a result, the 5’8, 168 pound cornerback from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec has committed to the Redmen and will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.

β€œThe football program is in constant evolution,” commented Grenier of his decision.Β  β€œThere is a good coaching staff and I believe in what Ron Hilaire want to build with the Redmen.”

β€œI’m looking forward to compete as fast as I can on the field.”

Equally, academics played a significant role in his decision.

β€œOn the academic side, McGill is the number one university in Canada, I can’t be wrong,” added the Quebec cornerback.Β  β€œI will be studying in education.”

Grenier has helped CEGEP Division 2 team, Sur-Jean-sur-Richelieu Geants win two consecutive Bol D’Or Championships (2014, 2015).Β  This past fall, he caught five interceptions, registered 39 tackles, had 6 batted down balls and also had a punt return touchdown.

β€œThis season was obviously my best season in college,” expressed Grenier.Β  β€œI’m looking forward to pull out the same number in the CIS.”

β€œI would also like to thank the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Geants for the great memories and the back to back Bol d’Ors.”
