CEGEP cornerback joins RSEQ team’s 2015 class.
Pier-Olivier Grenier has faith in the positive direction the McGill Redmen is headed towards in future years.
As a result, the 5β8, 168 pound cornerback from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec has committed to the Redmen and will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.
βThe football program is in constant evolution,β commented Grenier of his decision.Β βThere is a good coaching staff and I believe in what Ron Hilaire want to build with the Redmen.β
βI’m looking forward to compete as fast as I can on the field.β
Equally, academics played a significant role in his decision.
βOn the academic side, McGill is the number one university in Canada, I can’t be wrong,β added the Quebec cornerback.Β βI will be studying in education.β
Grenier has helped CEGEP Division 2 team, Sur-Jean-sur-Richelieu Geants win two consecutive Bol DβOr Championships (2014, 2015).Β This past fall, he caught five interceptions, registered 39 tackles, had 6 batted down balls and also had a punt return touchdown.
βThis season was obviously my best season in college,β expressed Grenier.Β βI’m looking forward to pull out the same number in the CIS.β
βI would also like to thank the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Geants for the great memories and the back to back Bol d’Ors.β
