CEGEP recruit hopes to achieve bilingualism at McGill

CEGEP defensive lineman newest recruit to join RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

For Rodrigue Caron, academics played a significant part in his commitment decision.

Recently, the 5โ€™11, 245 pound defensive lineman from Gaspesie (Maria), Quebec signed with the McGill Redmen.ย  Caron will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

โ€œMcGill is known as one of the best universities in the world,โ€ explained Caron of his decision. ย โ€œBut the major reason why, I chose McGill it is because I want to finish my bachelor degree as a bilingual.โ€

โ€œMy maternal language is French. ย My English is also good but not good as I want it to be.โ€

The Quebec defensive lineman comes to the Redmen after completing a stint with CEGEP Division 3 team, Rimouski Pionniers.ย  Previous to the Pionniers, Caron played for Baie des Chaleurs Carcajou.

Not only has he been successful as a defensive lineman, but he has played at the linebacker position as well as on the offensive line.
