CEGEP recruit opts for Bishop’s

CEGEP running back/defensive back joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class

Jean-Francois Cote was flattered by the attention given to him from one CIS school.

As a result, the 5’9, 190 pound running back/defensive back from Roxton Pond, Quebec signed with the Bishop’s Gaiters. Β Cote will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ seaosn.

“I chose the Bishop’s University because they were the most interested,” expressed the two-way standout. Β “I have many advantages to go play at Bishop’s.”

“They made me a game plan for my next three years at the school. Β They made me understand that I could be useful on the field and that I could play quickly.”

Cote completed a stint with CEGEP Division 2 team Victoriaville Vulkins. Β Offensively, he completed five passes in 14 attempts for 74 yards, 233 yards on 12 carries (average of 19.4 yards per carry) and 752 yards on 140 receptions (average of 5.4 yards per reception) and a touchdown.

Additonally on special teams, Cote amassed 318 yards on 18 carries (average of 17.7 yards per return) and a touchdown on punt return as well as 311 yards on 12 carries (average of 25.9 yards per return) and a touchdown on kick return.

Finally, the standout registered nine tackles and and one pick on defence.
