CEGEP defensive lineman joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class
Alexis St-Pierre will be continuing his gridiron career in his home province.
Recently, the 5β10, 210 pound defensive lineman from Joliette, Quebec committed to the McGill Redmen.Β St-Pierre will join the team for the 2016 RSEQ season.
Among the reasons he chose the Redmen included reputation and proximity.
βI chose McGill because it is renowned for its facilities and its studies programs,β elaborated the defensive standout.Β βI wanted to be closer to my home.β
Additionally, St-Pierre has been impressed by the Redmen coaching staff and the direction the team is heading towards.
βI find that the coaches are close with the players and took the time to do it right,β added the defensive lineman.Β βThe program is rebuilding and I want to do my part in the future to bring a positive contribution.β
This fall, St-Pierre is completing his final season with CEGEP Division 3 team, Thetford Mines Filons. In 2015, the defensive standout has recorded 11 sacks as well as registered 30 assisted and 20 solo tackles.Β He has spent four seasons with the Filons.
