CEGEP recruit opts to stay home, signs with Stingers

Montreal slotback recently joins RSEQ team’s 2015 class.

Nirosh Suresh will be continuing his gridiron journey at home.

Recently, the 5ā€™11, 184 pound slotback from Montreal, Quebec signed with the Concordia Stingers.Ā  Suresh will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

Ultimately, there were several factors which steered Suresh towards the Stingers.

ā€œI chose Concordia not only because they have a football program that’s on the rise but also because of their renowned Engineering Department,ā€ explained the standout of his decision.Ā  ā€œI love football, but injuries happen often and life goes on.ā€

ā€œBy going to Concordia, I can improve as a player and a student. The coaches are great. As soon as I stepped into the sports complex, they welcomed me as if I was already part of the Stingers family, which means a lot to me.Ā  I have the opportunity to be reunited with the quarterback that I started my career with, Ryan Kharouf by joining the Stingers.ā€

Suresh comes to the Stingers after completing a stint with CEGEP Division 2 team, Andre-Grasset Phenix.Ā  He first began playing with Regina Assumpta Panthers.

With his commitment, Suresh credits several individuals for getting him to this point in his career.

ā€œI owe everything I’ve accomplished to Coach Jean-Michel Senecal and my parents,ā€ expressed the Quebec defensive back.Ā  ā€œCoach Senecal took the time to develop me as a player, money was never an issue with him, player satisfaction was.ā€
ā€œHe made sure everyone played and that everyone was part of a family. He brought in CEGEP coaches to make sure we progressed also. Ā As for my parents, I have to thank them for always being there for me and sending me to a private school. Ā It was thanks to Coach Jason Hogan, currently the Offensive Coordinator at Andre-Grasset that I continued my football career.ā€
