Regina running back becomes fifth CFC 100 to join CWUAA team’s 2015 class.

The University of Alberta Golden Bears once again landed another CFC 100 and have been rewarded for their recruitment efforts in the Prairies.

Dryden Kalesnikoff is the newest Golden Bear.  The 5’9, 180 pound running back from Regina, Saskatchewan will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

“It has been a tough decision but I couldn’t be happier to be a Golden Bear,” expressed Kalesnikoff of his commitment.  “The recruitment process with the University of Alberta was exceptional as they gave me a taste of what it was like to be a Bear.”

“I felt welcome and knew it’s where I could fit in.”

Overall, the rebuild enthusiasm that the Head Coach Chris Morris as well as the football program has shown attracted the CFC 100 running back.

“The program at University of Alberta is focused and excited for success in the seasons to come,” added Kalesnikoff “I couldn’t be more impressed with how Coach Morris and his coaching staff has transformed this program and are running it so that the players and students succeed on the field, in the classroom and in life.”

Recently, Kalesnikoff capped off a successful career with Campbell Tartans of the Regina Intercollegiate Football League (RIFL). This past season, the CFC 100 led the league in rushing and was named RIFL Schwann 4A Offensive Player of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year as well as an All-Star.

With his commitment, Kalesnikoff becomes the fifth CFC 100 to join the Golden Bears.  Quarterback Cody Stevens, linebacker Brett Van Der Korput, offensive lineman Peter Kozushka and athlete Peter Zajdel are the others that have signed on with the team.
