FARHAN LALJI

BIO:

Coach Lalji is entering his 27th year of coaching BC High School Football, his 12th as a varsity head coach. He was recently named New Westminster’s Citizen of the Year for 2012 and for the second time was named runner up for the NFL National High School Coach of the Year (also in 2004). Lalji was also named 2010 Provincial Scholastic Coach of the Year at the BC Lions Orange Helmet Awards. Prior to launching the NWSS football program, Lalji spent two years as an assistant coach at Vancouver College, and from 1987 to 2000, he coached at Burnaby Central HS. He is an NCCP Level III certified coach and has been a guest coach at UBC, along with numerous camps in Canada and the USA. Lalji has coached over 40 players that have gone on to play college football. Lalji is a graduate of SFU and played football at Burnaby Central HS and with the Vancouver Meralomas (BCFC). He is also the past-president of the BCSSFA and is currently employed as a national reporter for TSN and CTV. Lalji, his wife Mary, son Lukas and daughter Nora live in New Westminster.

In 2015 New Westminister was the only non-prep high school program to send multiple players to NCAA division 1, Matt Seymour and Harper Sherman.
