Coach Tolmie, an Ottawa native, began his coaching career with his Alma Mater the Gloucester Dukes when his playing career ended. His first CIS coaching job was at the Universite de Sherbrooke from 2004-06, where he helped build an expansion program from scratch to a playoff contender, before moving on to the Universite de Montreal in 2007. After a year away from coaching, he returned to the Ottawa Jr Riders in 2009, then made his first appearance in the OUA with the Univeristy of Guelph in 2010. One of Coach Tolmie’s linemen from Guelph (Jake Pietrowski) is currently on the Montreal Alouettes’ roster. Since leaving Guelph to return to Ottawa to raise his family, Coach Tolmie has been the OL Coach for Myers Riders of the OVFL from 2012-14, helping build a team that has won the past two SR OVFL titles, going 22-0 and setting league records for offensive production in the process. Coach Tolmie has also been an invited guest coach with the Ottawa Renegades, Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL.
