Class of 2027 WR Ethen Meryl out of Miles MacDonell Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba has quietly turned himself into one of the more productive young receivers coming out of the province.

The Winnipeg native first played tackle football in Grade 9 after years around flag football, but his connection to the game started much earlier and quickly became an obsession. Since then, Meryl has climbed through the Manitoba football ranks with appearances on the U16 and U17 provincial teams while continuing to develop through Recruit Ready.
The production followed naturally. During his Grade 10 season at Miles MacDonell, Meryl posted 22 receptions for 538 yards and nine touchdowns while earning back-to-back JV Offensive Player of the Year honours in 2024 and 2025. He also added U17 Provincial Offensive Player of the Year in 2025 alongside multiple all-star selections at receiver.
Away from football, Meryl also plays basketball, enjoys downhill skiing, and can play piano, giving him a personality that feels different from the typical receiver stereotype.
Heading into Hamilton for the CFC Prospect Game on TSN, the Winnipeg playmaker is focused on gaining traction with college coaches, proving himself against elite competition, and continuing to build momentum toward the next level.
