Class of 2027 OT Logan Crane out of St. Joseph in Ottawa, Ontario, did not grow up bouncing between elite clubs or stacked travel rosters. His football journey has been built almost entirely inside one locker room.

The St. Joseph Jaguars program is the only football team Crane has ever played for, and honestly, that probably explains a lot about the way he talks about the sport. Ask him what made him fall in love with football and he does not start with stats, offers, or highlights. He talks about the brotherhood. About walking into a locker room as a Grade 9 player and watching dozens of individuals slowly become one team.

There is also something refreshingly honest about Crane’s story. He openly admits he was not very good when he first started playing high school football. A lot of athletes avoid saying that publicly once recruiting attention starts showing up. Crane leans into it because the growth matters more than pretending the journey was always smooth.

When the Jaguars graduated their starting tackle, he realized somebody needed to step into the role and protect the quarterback. Instead of hoping somebody else would handle it, Crane attacked the challenge himself. More work in the gym. More work on the field. More time around coaches and teammates. That process helped turn him into a two time city champion, an all-city honourable mention, and eventually one of the top offensive line prospects invited to Hamilton for the CFC Prospect Game on TSN.

The consistency stands out too.

One sack allowed across three seasons of football is the kind of stat offensive linemen wear like a badge of honour. Nobody notices offensive linemen when things are going smoothly, which usually means they are doing their job perfectly.

Crane also carries a multi-sport edge that fits naturally with offensive line play. In the offseason he plays lacrosse goalie for both the Nepean Knights and the St. Joseph team, where he also serves as captain. The footwork, reactions, communication, and willingness to absorb pressure all translate.

There is a little old-school energy in the way he approaches football overall. His pregame playlist is built around rock music instead of rap. His football hero is longtime St. Joseph coach and Ottawa University alumnus James Dumanoir, who helped shape Crane through all three years of high school football.

Now comes the next test in Hamilton.
