CFC TOP 50 National high school rankings (2): Great start, #2, #14 face off in Calgary

For the fourth season in a row CFC brings you theΒ CFC TOP 50 HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL RANKINGSΒ powered by theΒ Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC). Β The rankings have expanded to bring the top 50 (up from 25) teams in the country.

TOP 10 NOTES:

#1 Mount Douglas Rams played their first Canadian opponent in exhibition. Β First year start up program Spectrum were the gracious opponent that saw CFC TOP 100 Marcus Davis score 4 touchdowns (2 run, 2 rec) with almost 200 yards combined rushing and receiving.

#2 Notre Dame Pride – did not play. Open season against CFC #14Β Henry Wise Wood Warriors. Β The Calgary schedulers gave us a great match up in week 1…good, bad or other?

#3 Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard are still finding their stride early in the season but have managed to win both close games.  QB Benoit Côté will have to improve his TD-INT ration for them to repeat.

#4 Spruce Grove started the season off with a bang and against fellow CFC TOP 50 opponent Harry Ainlay. Β The Panthers scored early and often downing Ainlay 54 to 35. Β It was the same week Spruce Grove teamates Mark Korte (CFC TOP 100) and QB Brady Kerr committed to the Golden Bears.

#5 W.F. Herman Green Griffins open their regular season this Friday against Sandwich secondary.

#6 Leboldus Golden Suns dominated in their opening game against Winston Knoll with a 49 to 7 victory.

#7 É. sec. Curé-Antoine-Labelle Wolves continued their strong defensive play with a 22-2 victory over É. sec. Jacques-Rousseau.  Hope to shut down the #1 offense in Juv Div 1 Collège Jean-Eudes.  Philippe Michaud, Kean Harelimana and Xavier Angers-gauthier have been the leaders on defense.

#8Β Lakeshore Catholic Gators – did not play.

#9Β St. Paul’s Crusaders shut out River East 46 to 0. Β Play CFC TOP 50 Dakota Lancers this Thursday.

#10 Collège Notre-Dame Cactus dismantled Académie Les Estacades by a score of 33 to 19.  François Rocheleau has averaged over 13 yards per carry.

NOTES:
1) Teams eligible are in the below listing.
2) At least one team per province will be represented always.
3) We encourage your participation, feedback, and criticism.
4) All leagues go to grade 12 except for Quebec which are grade 10β€²s and 11β€²s. Ontario allows grade 13 players to play. Some provinces limit the total amount of years you can participate in high school football (i.e. Nova Scotia has 3 year maximum). Most provinces are January school years with the exception of Alberta (and Nova Scotia use to be so this class is still on that schedule).
5) List is compiled by CFC high school ranking group. CFC group numbers 20 people from across Canada. It includes 15 CFC reporters and selected area scouts.

6) Last weeks ranking. # listed or NR = not ranked.
