CFC ‘top linemen’ Leeflang signs with McGill

McGill got their second big defensive line commit over the weekend with the signing of “CFC top linemen” Elliott Leeflang. Elliot, a 6’3″ 295 lbs. defensive tackle from Perth, Ontario was arguable the best interior defensive lineman to stay in Canada (Daryl Waud being another). Elliott starred for his high school team, Perth District, and for Team Ontario East in 2008 and 2009 (part of the gold medal team in ’09). Elliot had this to say about his decision:

“My decision to choose McGill came down to the fact that I will be getting a fantastic education from an excellent university and as far as football goes I think that the pieces are coming together that will make McGill a great football team in the near future. Hopefully I can come in and make a difference and help McGill become a serious competitor.”

Defensive coordinator Clint Uttley had this to say about the signing of Leeflang. “Elliott was our top interior defensive lineman that we were recruiting. He is a great player and great person. McGill fans are going to enjoy watching Elliott play on Saturday’s.”
