Will #CFC100 Philippe Lemieux-Cardinal and defensive peers be able to stop Notre-Dameā€™s offence, and capture the number 2 position! Many battling to stay alive, five teams on the bubble.

Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars (6-1) vs CĆ©gep Limoilou Titans (3-4) The Cougars head to Limoilou with a desire to remain number 1 and retain the bye in the first round of the playoffs. The Titans are playing for a place in the big race and losing last week adds extra tension for this game. Their offence slipped against AndrĆ©-Grasset and they are hosting a Champlain defence that has progressed each week. Young QB Olivier Bamrounsavath will have his hands full and so will the offensive line trying to prevent Champlainā€™s LBā€™s Dominick Brazeau and Michael Brodrique, who are listed number 4 and 5 in total sacks with a combined 11 QB takedowns.

Complicating the mission, the Titans defence must stop the Cougarsā€™ offensive discharge, limit their air striking capabilities and reduce the ground game that has been steady all year with #CFC100 OT Patrick Davis up front leading the pack. Champlain should prevail and remain on top.

CollĆØge AndrĆ©-Grasset PhĆ©nix (6-1) vs vs Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (6-1) On paper, this is the matchup of the year. The collision of these two teams, tied at number 2, will produce a gigantic volcano eruption producing a lava full of excitement and thrills for the full duration of the game. Offensively, they look alike and are very close in points for, with Notre-Dame leading by 9 at 248 points. Both are built solid up front with a couple of veterans leading their peers and having the depth needed to compete all the way through to November. In the QB comparison, Notre-Dameā€™s David Pelletier is ranked second in total yards and his counterpart, Pierre-Olivier Potvin, has thrown fewer balls, but his completion ratio is a little better. What separates them is the interception column, with Pelletier having only 4 in 211 attempts versus Potvinā€™s 7 in 152 attempts. Their premier RBā€™s are 30 yards apart and their percentage of runs are almost identical. The experienced Notre-Dame receiving corps is performing better and WR Vincent Forbes-Mombleau sits at number 2 in receiving yards with 770, with an average of 16.7 per catch. Defensively, the margin is of 15 points and Grasset takes this one with 96 points against, which is the lowest of the division.

The PhĆ©nix front seven is up there in the statistics with #CFC100 Philippe Lemieux-Cardinal and Yacine Audette sharing the lead with seven sacks each. Their secondaryā€™s are efficient and very physical, making this confrontation a probable low scoring game. The indistinguishable factor that will determine the winner, is the performance of Notre-Dameā€™s offensive line.

CĆ©gep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu GĆ©ants (3-4) vs CollĆØge Montmorency Nomades (0-7) The Nomades fate is evident and their participation in the 2016 playoff race is no longer possible. So, the pressure is off and with the stress factors eliminated, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This should be a good fight at the beginning, but the GĆ©ants lost a tough one last week and this win is critical in their rankings in the division, heading into the playoffs and they should come out of the gate with a taste of revenge in their mouths. The Saint-Jean #CFC100 QB, Dimitri Morand, should rebound with a bang and guide his team to a 500 record at 4-4 with one game left.

Vanier College Cheetahs (5-2) vs CĆ©gep Garneau Ɖlans (2-5) The noose is getting tighter for Garneau and their battered defence will collide with a Vanier offence that has been putting up a lot of points lately. The Cheetahs ground game cumulated 434 yards last week and they also have the weapons to strike overhead. Surprisingly, the Garneau offence delivered an exciting show last Saturday, with QB Thierry Doucet completing 20 out of 28 for 310 yards and RB Christophe Harnois-Tremblay rushing for 170 yards, and they will need to repeat the same type of results to win. The challenge is pretty clear and the Vanier defence, commanded by #CFC100 LB Kean Harelimana who ranks second in total tackles in the division, will be the determining factor in this key matchup.

CĆ©gep LĆ©vis-Lauzon Faucons (1-6) vs CĆ©gep Vieux-MontrĆ©al Spartiates (3-4) With a win last week, there is still some light at the end of the tunnel for LĆ©vis-Lauzon and that means two must wins, with two of the four teams above them losing both their games in the hope of finishing in 7th place. Vieux-MontrĆ©al is one of those four teams and they are also feeling the pressure from this extremely competitive season finale. The Spartiates offence is steadily progressing and QB Willian Roy-Rodriguez completed 11 out of 22 for 156 yards against the defending champs last week. Their running game is usually capable of controlling the ball, but the defence did muster an impressive stand in their altercation with the Cougars. Stopping the run proved to be a strength, with the #CFC100 LB Enock Makonzo being a prime participant,Ā and they will need to bring their ā€œAā€ game this Saturday when they face the Faucons running attack driven by RB Joanik Masse who leads the division with 890 yards and just rumbled 242 yards over Garneau. In their defeat, the LĆ©vis-Lauzon offence managed to score 4 touchdowns via the air and Vieux-MontrĆ©al will have to shut down the run first, leaving the Faucons fate in the hands of their young QB, Noel GrĆ©goire.
