It was a special weekend for CFC100 Class of 2023 Ishmael Findlayter out of Clarkson Football North, who announced his commitment to Virginia Tech.
It’s been a busy couple of months for the 6’4″, 235lbs prospect, who was recently ranked 4th on the CFC100 Class of 2023. He’s made appearances on campus at Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Vanderbilt and Maryland, but it was his visit to Virginia Tech that changed his future forever. Findlayter took a visit at the end of July that quickly turned into an offer, and it didn’t take long for that offer to turn into a commitment once he mulled over his options. The Ontario native was entertaining offers from Ohio, Vanderbilt, Arizona State and South Dakota before deciding Virginia was the place to be.
The last prospect from Canada we tracked that committed to Virginia Tech was WR Joshua Stanford, who would go onto be selected by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2016 CFL Draft.
