CFC100 staying in Windsor, becomes a Lancer

Windsor welcomes one of their first commits to their 2017 class.

CFC100 Jacob Savoni, a running back from St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic High School, will be staying home after signing with the Windsor Lancers.

Savoni, who is 5’11, 180lbs, has played in the 2016 edition of the Football Canada Cup as part of the bronze-medal-winning Team Ontario. He comes from LaSalle, Ontario, which is right across the river from Detroit, Michigan. In 2015, he won an OVFL championship with the Essex Ravens and was recognized as offensive MVP. He has played with the Villanova Wildcats (Windsor and Essex Country Secondary School Athletic Association).

Lancer Head Coach, Jos D’Amore, is looking forward to having the local recruit join their team. “He is an outstanding player who has played both nationally and provincially. He was one of the top offense players in the city and it was important for us to keep him here,” he said. “We are more than excited to have him in the blue and gold.”
