CFC100 going out east, joins St. FX

St. FX brings in second commit to their 2017 class.

#CFC100 Jalen Burley, a defensive end from Vincent Massey Collegiate, will be travelling from a metropolitan, prairie city to a small, costal community after committing to the St. Francis Xavier X-Men.

The 6’2, 230lbs football player will be leaving Canada’s interior behind next year. St. FX is in Antagonism, Nova Scotia, which will be a change of scenery from his home of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has spent his high school career playing with the Vincent Massey Trojans (Winnipeg High School Football League). Kelsey McKay, the Trojans head coach, told the Winnipeg Free Press that Burley is quick, intelligent and explosive.

Gary Waterman, the X-Men’s head coach, said, “We are thrilled to welcome explosive athlete Jalen Burley to the StFX football program. He comes from a great family and is an excellent student.”

He added that, “Jalen fits the outstanding talent, high character profile that we would like to continue to add to our football roster. We are excited for the opportunity to work with him.”

Burley has suited up for Team Manitoba in the Football Canada Cup. In 2016, he was part of the Elite Blue and Gold Games (Football Manitoba), which were held at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg.
