Laval brings in highly touted commit to their Class of 2017.
Choosing a university is difficult, but for CFC100 Tyris Lebeau, a defensive back from Vanier College, it was the prestige of the Laval Rouge et Or that made the choice a little bit easier.
āPersonally, (I think theyāre) the best football program in the country year in and year out. With the recruiting class they just had, I have a feeling that we will continue the Rouge et Or tradition and bring many championships,ā he said. āBut, we will have to work hard since no win will be given.ā
University is a time to grow and mature as a person. The 6ā2, 210lbs athlete is looking forward to the chance to develop under the coaching staff. āAfter meeting the coaching staff, I am confident that they will prepare me physically and mentally for the next level,ā he said.
āTheyāve had numerous first round draft picks in the CFL, and this year they might have one of their players, Anthony Auclair, who has a chance of getting drafted by the NFL. So, it shows the preparation that the players go through.ā
Lebeau, who will be taking physical education, added that he chose Laval for the schoolās great academic support.
Originally from St-Hubert, Longueuil, QuƩbec, he played with the Vanier College Cheetahs (RSEQ Division 1) for two years after switching from Les GƩants du CƩgep St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (RSEQ Division 1). He has also played with Team QuƩbec and Team Canada. This year, he was a Division 1 all-star as a safety.
āI would like to thank my coaches at St-Hubert Rebelles, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu and especially at Vanier for making me into the player I am today,ā Lebeau said. āI would also like to thank my family and friends for the unconditional support throughout the years.ā
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
