CFC100 QB Veilleux announces NCAA commitment

There may be no action on the gridiron, but there’s still massive moves being made behind the scenes with CFC100 Class of 2021 quarterback Christian Veilleux out of Bullis School (MD) announcing his commitment to Penn State.

The 6’4″, 200lbs Ottawa native began his recruiting journey early while still in Canada suiting up for the Cumberland Panthers of the NCAFA earning offers from the University at Buffalo, Rutgers, Michigan and Temple in grade nine. Veilleux ended up playing down south next season at Canisius (NY) where he led the squad to a 4-0 league record and a berth in the New York Monsignor Martin State Tournament finals. He finished the season throwing for 1699 yards and 17 touchdowns, plus he added 268 yards and four touchdowns along the ground.

At this point in his journey, he was already a hot prospect earning seven more Power 5 offers at Canisius, including Tennessee, South Carolina, Indiana and Syracuse. Veilleux then took his talents to Maryland where he attended Bullis School last season, and he didn’t skip a beat continuing to attract some of the biggest colleges around, culminating in a pair of big-time offers from Clemson and LSU.

Eventually Veilleux decided to bring an end to the madness announcing the top four left standing were Clemson, Duke, Tennessee and Penn State, with the allure of Happy Valley winning out in the end. He’ll join a large contingent of Canadian talent who’ve made Penn State home in recent years, including CFC100s Jonathan Sutherland, Daniel Joseph and Jesse Luketa, plus Class of 2020 commits CFC100 top ranked Theo Johnson, and CFC60 Malick Meiga.
