CFC100 QB Xavier Vaillancourt commits to Calgary

The Calgary Dinos reeled in the nation’s fourth-ranked quarterback for 2020.

Xavier Vaillancourt is one of the highly ranked quarterbacks on the CFC100 player class rankings and was immediately drawn to the Dinos’ reputable program.

The 17-year-old had no desire to leave Alberta, especially with the opportunities that Calgary can offer in the present and future.

“I love my life here in Alberta and wouldn’t exchange it for any other,” said Vaillancourt. “I have a horse and enjoy many other outdoor activities. All of my friends and family are here and I really enjoy that. Being able to go for a paddle or to see my horse is a great bonus to joining such a great team and coaching staff.”

It is a calculated commitment by the Cochrane, AB, native, as he believes he can contribute to the team’s future success.

“I believe I fit in perfectly with their system and I love the coaches,” said Vaillancourt. “I think that the playbook and the philosophy of the Coaches are going to fit my play style well and hopefully I will be able to complement the Dinos’ offence nicely.”

Xavier was also a member of team Dunigan in the inaugural CFC Prospect Game that was broadcast nationally on TSN this past June.

Vaillancourt is interested in attending the Haskaynes School of business and looking to get into the field of finance.
