#CFC100 REC set to join the Concordia Stingers

Concordia add a highly-touted wide receiver to their team.

It has been two years since he has seen Québec, but now Jaylan Grandison, a wide receiver from Asa College, will be returning to la belle province after committing to the Concordia Stingers.

The 6’4, 205lbs football player grew up in LaSalle, Québec, which is a southern suburb of Montréal. While with his latest team, the Asa Avengers (National Junior College Athletics Association Division 1), he found himself in New York City. Now he will be spending the next couple years in Montréal.

“I chose Concordia because of the apparent sense of family they have there. I’m already close friends with many of the players and I see something special brewing within this team for the upcoming season,” he said of his new team.

What may have impressed Grandison even more is the team’s coaching staff. Grandison, said Head Coach Mikey Donovan is the perfect definition of a player’s coach. He added that Coach Michael Harrington, the receivers coach, knows a lot about the receiver position and that he has produced three all-RSEQ receivers in the past two years. “I look forward to further improving and crafting my game under his guidance,” he said.

During his 13-year career, Grandison has played for the North Shore Lions (North Shore Football League), the LaSalle Warriors (Montréal Regional Football League), Canada Prep Academy and the John Abbott Islanders (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec Division 2).

He also played in the Wilson Challenge (Football Québec) in 2011 as part of the under-17 team. In 2015, he was a NEC All-Freshman. He also cracked the 2016 edition of #CFC100. When he enters university, he said he is interested in going into economics or accounting.
