#CFC100 and top ranked QB Nathan Rourke threw for 4 first half touchdowns in his first game in Alabama HS football. Ā The Wildcats have now won 59 straight ā the longest high school football winning streak in America.
With Rourke triggering the offense, the Wildcats rolled up 482 yards of total offense. Ā Rourke impressed in his first American start, finishing 16-of-28 for 225 yards and four touchdowns. His numbers would have been higher, but at least there passes were dropped by receivers, including a second-half pass that almost certainly would have been his fifth touchdown.
Edgewood coach Bobby Carr compared Rourke to Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel during the summer. While that might be a stretch, Rourke showed uncanny elusiveness in Thursday’s 33-21 victory over Escambia Academy.
āWe still found a way to score,ā Rourke said to . āOur defense really stepped up in the second half.ā
