#CFC100 Rourke throws four first half TDs in Alabama HS debut, compared to Manziel

#CFC100 and top ranked QB Nathan Rourke threw for 4 first half touchdowns in his first game in Alabama HS football.  The Wildcats have now won 59 straight – the longest high school football winning streak in America.

With Rourke triggering the offense, the Wildcats rolled up 482 yards of total offense.  Rourke impressed in his first American start, finishing 16-of-28 for 225 yards and four touchdowns. His numbers would have been higher, but at least there passes were dropped by receivers, including a second-half pass that almost certainly would have been his fifth touchdown.

Edgewood coach Bobby Carr compared Rourke to Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel during the summer. While that might be a stretch, Rourke showed uncanny elusiveness in Thursday’s 33-21 victory over Escambia Academy.

“We still found a way to score,” Rourke said to . “Our defense really stepped up in the second half.”
