No. 1 Holy Trinity Academy Knights (5-0) – In a much closer game than expected, the Knights remain undefeated with their win over Hunting Hills, 10-6. This week they face Strathmore and will probably remain undefeated after this weekend.
No. 2 SĆ©m. Saint-Joseph Vert et Or (5-0) – This was an upset in Quebec. The Vert et Or unseated previous CFC25 No. 3 College Bourget, 20-17. Bourget falls to No. 8 while the Vert et Or have cracked the top 5 due to this great performance. Next week eases up a little as they play CollĆØge Laval (2-3).
No. 3 Vernon Panthers (2-0, 2-0) – The Panthers took it to Salmon Arm this past weekend with a 49-7 victory in the interior of BC. Interestingly enough, Vernon has another bye this week. Their remaining two games are not difficult and we don’t see any reason why they won’t remain undefeated heading into the playoffs.
No. 4 Portage Collegiate Trojans (5-0) – 65-14 was the final score against Crocus Plains for the Trojans this past weekend. With the exception of Miles Mac, Portage has beat all of their opponents by 35+ points. Their opponent this week may have something to say about that as they go up against the 5-1 Elmwood Giants. The Giants are coming off a 57-0 shutout. That kind of momentum is tough to shut down, but we know the Trojans are hungry to keep climbing in the rankings and are prepared to do whatever it takes to remain undefeated. Is there another upset in the air?
Thank you, thank you, thank you?

No. 5 Thomas A. Stewart Griffins (3-0) – Having averted an educational worker strike in Ontario (for now), the Griffins live to play another week. They soundly beat Crestwood, 64-17 on the weekend. Adam Scott is their next opponent. Who’s going home to a happy Thanksgiving?

Who’s getting ranked?
For the first time, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national ‘Small School’ high school football rankings known as the CFC25.
The CFC25 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.
How is theĀ CFC25Ā evaluated?
Leagues/teams included in rankings:
- British Columbia: AA Varsity
- Alberta: Tier 2-4
- Saskatchewan: 12-man 3A rural, SaskatoonĀ – 5A, Regina – Stewart
- Manitoba: Division 2 and 3 Varsity
- Ontario: NSSAA – Haldimand-Norfolk, BAA – Bluewater, COSSAA – Kawartha, COSSAA – Bay of Quinte, LRFL – Lanark-Renfrew, LGSSAA – Brockville, EOFC – Cornwall
- Quebec: Juvenile Division 1b
- New Brunswick: 12-man D2E and D2W
- Nova Scotia: Auburn Drive, Sackville, Cole Harbour, Parkview, Millwood, West Kings, Avon View, Central Kings, Horton, JL Isley, Sydney (***NS league was re-aligned Oct. 1, 2019. These are now the Division 2 teams and will take into affect for week 7 ranking)
The CFC25 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers small school leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.
The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC25 is released every Tuesday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
