CFC100 DB Trae Tomlinson started off his collegiate career at Richmond, the same school made famous in Canada by CFC100 WR Dejon Brissett, who now plays for the Toronto Argonauts. At Richmond, Tomlinson contributed immediately as a true freshman posting 15 tackles over 12 games while contributing both on special teams and in defensive packages.
The 5β10β, 180lbs Winnipeg native stepped into a starting cornerback role as a sophomore in 2023 and never looked back. Over 26 games in his sophomore and junior years, the sticky defender put up 75 tackles, 13 pass breakups, 3 TFLs, a pick, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
After establishing himself as one of the most reliable corners in the CAA, Tomlinson made the choice to jump to the FBS level to show pro scouts that he could ball against the best competition. He received multiple FBS and top-tier FCS offers before deciding to make the move to Louisiana-Lafayette of the Sun Belt Conference.
