Great W tonight in our 2019 Blackout game! First shutout of the season! 34-0 over SJB. #OWE #Finish
— STMKnights (@STM_Football) September 21, 2019
No. 1 St. Thomas More Knights (2-0, 1-0) – The Knights shut out St. Jean de Brebeuf, 34-0, keeping them undefeated early in the season. Their matchup on Friday will be more challenging as they face CFC50 No. 14 the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. This will be a rematch of last year’s GHAC final where STM beat Newman 20-9. Common opponent this year, Newman has won their game against Bishop Ryan, 23-17. The Knights beat them 32-6. We think the Knights will take this one, but the Cardinals could want it more after last year’s loss.

No. 2 St. Francis Browns (1-0, 2-0) – The Browns came away with their first shut out to open their regular season, 38-0 against the Ernest Manning Griffins. They will get another week to perfect their schemes as they play Bishop O’Byrne this weekend. The Browns will continue to dominate.
No. 3 Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard (4-0) – The shutouts continue as the Blizzard role Académie Saint-Louis, 20-0. CFC50 No. 48 Curé-Antoine-Labelle are next up on the Blizzard’s path. The Loups are coming off a loss, 21-14, against CFC50 No. 34 Triolet and will have to gather themselves quickly if they are to keep up with the Blizzard this weekend.
No. 4 Holy Names Knights (Windsor) (1-0, 0-2) – Shout out number 4, the Knights dominated Cardinal Carter 33-0. Up next for them is Massey who is winless this season. We don’t think Holy Names will be challenged until the face Herman on October the 4th.
No. 5 Catholic Central Crusaders (1-1) – The Crusaders will finally get to work as they open their regular season schedule at home against St. Joseph’s on Thursday.

Who’s getting ranked?
For the tenth year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as the CFC50.
The CFC50 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.
How is the CFC50 evaluated?
Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man rural / 6A / Schwann, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia (all teams excluding CFC25 eligible teams).
The CFC50 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers top tier leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.
The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC50 is released every Monday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
