CFC50 2019 High School RANKINGS (7): 5 new teams ranked as playoffs loom

No. 1 St. Thomas More Knights (5-0, 1-0) – As we predicted, the game against Bishop Tonnos was a blow out, 68-0. This next week they will fact Cathedral who are 2-2. We have to say that STM has only had 6 points scored against them all season. We think this game will have a similar outcome as last game.

No. 2 St. Francis Browns (3-0, 2-0) – The Brown’s game against William Aberhart was postponed this past week. According to the schedule, they are on a bye this upcoming week. They will finish off their schedule against CFC50 Henry Wise Wood before they start in on the Alberta playdowns.

No. 3 Catholic Central Crusaders (3-0, 1-1) – Remaining undefeated with their win against Mother Teresa, 46-14, the Crusaders will have to prepare for this upcoming match as they face St. Thomas Aquinas who is also undefeated at 3-0. CCH is +/- 95 while STA is 58. This will be their toughest matchup so far this season.

No. 4 Leboldus Golden Suns (5-0) – Leboldus put the exclamation mark on the defending city champions, Miller, 58-14. This next week is a great matchup against the CFC50 No. 19 Riffel Royals. The Royals are also undefeated at 5-0. Riffel beat Miller 34-9 as a comparison of a common opponent. This will be the last regular season game for the RHSAA.

No. 5 Saint-Jean-Eudes Condors (7-0) – The Condors don’t have it easy for their second to last game of the season as they meet 6-1 CFC50 No. 21 CollĆØge Charles-Lemoyne. They will be coming in motivated and fairly rested after their 45-14 win over Ɖ. sec. CurĆ©-Antoine-Labelle (2-5). This will be another strong matchup in Quebec.

Who’s getting ranked?

For the tenth year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as theĀ CFC50.

The CFC50 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.

How is theĀ CFC50Ā evaluated?

Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man rural / 6A / Schwann, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia (all teams excluding CFC25 eligible teams).

TheĀ CFC50Ā is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers top tier leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie.Ā CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.

The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC50 is released every Monday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
