No. 21 Mount Douglas Rams (Victoria, BC) vsĀ Vashon Island (USA Team)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

The defending provincial champions will be playing Vashon Island high school, they will need a strong performance from their super sophomore QB Gideone Kremler. Vashon Island will be entering the game 0-2. No doubt the Canadians will leave Vashon Island with a convincing win.

No. 11 Vancouver College Fighting Irish (Vancouver, BC) vsĀ STMC (Burnaby, BC) Sat. Sept. 17th @ 1:30pm

Game preview courtesy: BCHSFBĀ

St. Thomas More (1-0) and Vancouver College (1-0) are set to clash for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon. Both teams will take the field coming off big victories in last weeksā€™ games. A late touchdown from Isaiah States lifted the Irish to a one-point victory over #1 ranked Terry Fox Ravens. Michael Le led the charge offensively racking up 153 yards on the ground and also added a pair of touchdowns. On defense, Jason Galvez came up clutch with a late interception that led to Statesā€™ game winning TD.

ā€œOur team this year is very well-rounded. We are not outstanding in one single area, but we are good at everything and feel we are a tough matchup because we have very few vulnerabilities,ā€ said Vancouver College Head Coach Todd Bernett.

For St. Thomas More, they opened up their campaign by beating #5 ranked Notre Dame 28-6. Tyler Eckert scored three touchdowns and added 115 yards rushing to lead the way on offense. On defense, Eckert also had 2 sacks while Mateo Morreira, Ethan Austin, and Matteo Montagliani all had over five tackles apiece.

ā€œIt should be a very excitable environment because this is an important rivalry game between us. Handling the emotions of a rivalry like this is a very important element in this matchup,ā€ continued Bernett. ā€œSTMC is above all a very well coached team and are difficult to manipulate. They donā€™t fall for gimmicks or tricks, and their players have strong fundamentals,ā€ Bernett finished.

Last season on September 18, 2015- Vancouver College shutout STMC 20-0 at Burnaby Lakes.

The game will feature #CFC100 QB Jacob Samuels and will no doubt have a huge game as the Irish advance to 2-1 on the season with a convincing victory over STMC.

No. 17 NewĀ WestminsterĀ Hyacks (New Westminster, BC) vsĀ G. W. Graham (BC)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

The Hyacks will travel to Chilliwack to compete with G.W. Graham who enjoyed a successful campaign in AA in 2015 and look to continue their improvement.

Their opponent, New West, will look to get healthy and build on the big win from the following week. The game no doubt will be impacted by the two #CFC100s that the Hyacks boast, LB/RB Trew Dancey and LB/G Connor Pattison.

No. 40 Notre Dame Jugglers (Vancouver, BC) Ā vsĀ Holy Cross (BC)Ā Fri. Sept 16th

The jugglers will look to rebound after last week’s set back versus STMC. Their up coming opponent, AA Holy Cross is coming off a convincing win against Windsor. HC will rely heavily on it’s #CFC100 players, Cole Baron, possibly the best LB in BC high school football and Marcus Browne, who is arguably the top athlete of this year.Ā

It’s important the Jugglers get back on track with a positive result prior to heading into league play in the next few weeks only because they play in probably what is the most competitive division in BC high school football.Ā

No. 19 Harry Ainlay Titans (Edmonton, AB) vsĀ Bellerose Bulldogs (Edmonton, AB)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

Even though the Bellerose Bulldogs has one game under their belt, it still won’t make a difference when they take on the favoured Titans. #CFC100 LB/RB Tadi Siwira will be leading the charge who could potentially dominate the game going both ways.

centennial-coyotes-2016

No. 45 Centennial Coyotes (Calgary, AB) vs. No. 27 Henry Wise Wood Warriors (Calgary, AB) Tues. Sept. 13th

In what should be an extremely competitive game, the Coyotes will take on Warriors tonight. This will feature a matchup between #CFC100sĀ OL Tristan Rice fromĀ Centennial andĀ DE Tyrese Best from HWW. Two teams who have continuously gotten better and are looking to climb the ladder and challenge the big boys in Alberta high school football.Ā

No. 1 St. Francis Browns (Calgary, AB) vsĀ Ernest Manning Griffins (Calgary, AB)Ā Fri. Sept 16th

The Ernest Manning Griffins will be overmatched early and often. This could get ugly! The Browns are loaded on both offense and defense with #CFC100s LB Joe Dutton and REC Jacob Izquierdo. The only hope the Griffins have in plugging any of the holes showing in the dyke will be with #CFC100 DL Kale Berglund who will have to play his own version of superman.Ā

No. 49 LCI Rams (Lethbridge, AB) vsĀ Timberlake, ID (USA Team)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

LCI will look to rebound after a lopsided loss to provincial power St. Francis Browns. Timberlake at 0-3 will host LCI. The Rams will want to get a win prior to heading into regular season play.Ā

No. 27 Henry Wise Wood Warriors (Calgary, AB) vs No. 3 Bev Facey Falcons (Sherwood Park, AB)Ā Sat. Sept. 17 @ 5:00 p.m., MEGlobal Athletic Park (Lacombe)

Probably the most anticipated non-conference neutral-site game in recent memory. Bev Facey has been chewing up their opponents so far going 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Metro Edmonton play. Over that time, as expected, #CFC100Ā RBĀ Chubba Hubbard has raced to 524 yards on a mere 33 carries (15.9 yards per carry), crossed the goal line 8 times and has been on the bench before the end of the third quarter in all three games. Add to that a much improved defense that, but for a 65-yard punt single vs. Bellerose, has shut out their opponents so far. They are definitely the class of Northern Alberta, but the age old question of how would they do against one of Calgaryā€™s Big Three will be answered on Saturday. The Henry Wise Wood Warriors havenā€™t played anyone yet, but are stacked to the rafters with talent most notably on defense with bookend monsters at DE with former Team Alberta studs Brigham (Moose) Wilson and #CFC100 DE Tyrese Best plus Team Canada U18 linebacker Devin Derouin. Irresistible Force vs. Immovable Object? Might be worth the trip to Lacombe this Saturday.

[#CFCscores for SK]

No. 4 Leboldus Golden Suns (Regina, SK) vsĀ Winston Knoll Wolverines (Regina, SK)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

The Golden Suns will dominate yet again another in-province opponent. The real question is can Leboldus go undefeated and continue to dominate throughout the regular season. They will be led by 2 of the better prospects in the province #CFC100s LB Nick Cross and RB Semba Mbasela.

tartan-football-logo

No. 34 Campbell Tartans (Regina, SK) vsĀ O’Neill Titans (Regina, SK)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

The Tartans will take on the Titans at Mosaic Stadium for their 50th Anniversary Kick-off celebration. Campbell will look to get back on track following a tough game versus Leboldus last week. O’Neill will look to defeat the Tartans while they are licking their wounds from last weekends loss.Ā

No. 23 Holy Cross Crusaders (Saskatoon, SK) vsĀ Aden Bowman Bears (SK)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

The Holy Cross Crusaders will grind it out against Taylor Street rival Aden Bowman Bears. This is a rematch of last year’s 4A City Final. Aden Bowman is replacing several senior players and will have to play fast and smart if they wish to stay in this one.Ā

[#CFCscores for MB]

No. 22 Vincent Massey Trojans (Winnipeg, MB) Ā vsĀ Garden City Fighting Gophers (Winnipeg, MB) Sat. Sept. 17th

After their loss to St. Pauls last week, VM will look to get back on track this week when they take on the Fighting Gophers on Saturday night. #CFC100Ā DE Jalen Burley will be leading the way into the win column for this matchup. Garden City won 6-1 last week and will be looking to add to their record.

No. 11 St. Paul’s Crusaders (Winnipeg, MB) vsĀ Murdoch MacKay Clansmen (Winnipeg, MB) Fri. Sept. 16th

The Clansmen lost last week to Grant Park 21-34 and will be hard pressed this week as they go against the No. 11 ranked St. Paul’s Crusaders. The Crusaders will be led byĀ #CFC100 Shae Weekes who we hope will showcase his big play ability.

No. 6 A.N. Myer Marauders (Niagara, ON)Ā No. 9 Huron Hts. Warriors (Newmarket, ON)Ā Fri. Sept. 16 @ 7:30pmĀ GuelphĀ University

This will be the most anticipated high school game of the week. It features a number of #CFC100s. AN Myer has the brother combo of Trey and Tyrell Ford while HHW will feature hulking OL Mathew Goodall who tips the scales at 6’7, 310lbs and will be led on defense by DB Danny McWhirter.

This will be a contest between speed and athleticism versus brute force. The Warriors will unveil their new uniforms, hopefully the new swag will help them run fast enough to stop the Ford brothers.

No. 24 Nelson Lords (Burlington, ON) vs.Ā St. Thomas AquinasĀ Fri. Sept. 16thĀ

Nelson defeated the St. Peter Knights last Friday 27-7 in front of several CIS coaches and scouts at the University of Montreal. Nelson will kick off its regular season at home where they face a tough St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders who made it’s way to the Tier 2 final last year.

No. 13 St. Roch Ravens (Brampton, ON) vsĀ No. 20 Resurrection Phoenix (Kitchener, ON)Ā Fri. Sept. 16th

The Ravens won 42-0 last week led by Lesean Betton, and their young receiving core. #CFC100 DL Justin Jelacic from Resurrection will be hard pressed to match up athletically. Unless Resurrection can dominate the line of scrimmage, the Ravens will run away wild all over the field.

[#CFCscores for NB]

No. 46 Tantramar Regional Titans (Sackville, NB)Ā Bernice MacNaughton (NB) Fri. Sept 16th

Tantramar moved up in the ranks this week to No. 46 with their win against Harrison Trimble last week. They will be looking to improve upon that record going into to play Bernice MacNaugton on Friday night.

Riverview Royals (Moncton, NS) vs l’OdysseeĀ OlympiensĀ (Moncton, NB ) Sat. Sept. 17th

This game features what many feel will be the best team in NB, Riverview, by the mid season or at the end of the season playing against the best player in NB with #CFC100 OL Charles Lavallee for L’Odyssee.

[#CFCscores for NS]

No. 38 Citadel Phoenix (Halifax, NS) vs CP. Allen (NS) Sun. Sept. 18th

Two of the better teams in Nova Scotia will face off this Sunday as perennial provincial power, No. 38 Citadel takes on one of its arch rivals, CP Allen in an early season game that could set the tone for the rest of the season.
