Will Notre-Dame tame QB Tremblay, or will Curé-Antoine-Labelle be able to hunt down Notre-Dame’s RB Seaborn! Saint-Joseph will need a solid defensive stand to conquer the Scorpions running game. The Triolet Harfangs need a miracle! The QB dual of the year is scheduled to take place at the Collège Laval Saturday.

École Sec. Curé-Antoine-Labelle Loups (5-3) vs Collège Notre-Dame Cactus (7-1) Two different styles of offence squaring off, the ground pounding Cactus facing the flying fireworks of the Loups. Both played last week and gained victory via their bread and butter. Will the Curé-Antoine-Labelle defence be able to stop RB Théodore Seaborn and company. Seaborn finished second in the division and has carried his team thus far with the help of an experienced offensive line. The Loups’ firing commander, QB Xavier Tremblay, finished second in the division and has been able to manage the ball very well, throwing only 4 picks in 155 attempts. Tremblay will be confronted by the second best defence, 3 leading sacks inflictors with a combined 19 sacks, Pierre-Olivier Andrieux with 7, Fabrizio Vecchio with 6, Antoine Audet-Michaud with 6, and with unit total of 24 sacks and 8 interceptions. When they met, midway in the season, the Cactus pulled a close win 20-17 thanks to their kicker, Antoine Couture who scored 2 safeties and a field goal. Tremblay did not have a good game and Seaborn had rumbled 177 yards. The result will be close and if the weather is diligent, the Loups might be able to pull it off.

École Secondaire Triolet Harfangs (4-4) vs Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard (8-0) Coming off a first round bye, the Séminaire Saint François Blizzard will be much rested and prepared to deliver the final blow to finish the Harfangs, and maintain their course to a perfect season. The Triolet is traveling to Saint-Augustin to avenge their 63-24 domination from week 7, and QB/RB Lukas Bélanger will need all the support he can from his supporting crew. The Triolet defence needs to find a way to slow down the spectacularly balanced and productive offence which has desiccated all the defences this year, and keep their offence on the field. The Blizzard defence has not been broken yet and LB Étienne Amiot with fellow defenders will tame the Harfangs, and the Saint-François pivot, Raphael Latulippe, backed by RB Kalenga Muganda, will control the ball and guide his team to another victory.

Séminaire Saint-Joseph QB # 9 Charles Cossette Armand-Corbeil RB #22 Danté Tortoricci
Séminaire Saint-Joseph Vert et Or (5-3) vs É. Sec. Armand-Corbeil Scorpions (7-1) What a collision this is going to be, the second best offence, Scorpions, battling against the second best defence, Vert et Or. They faced off in week 1 and the Scorpions got the best of the Vert et Or with a thundering ground attack. Armand-Corbeil’s power back, Danté Tortoricci, who finished number one with 1324 rushing yards, and their multi purpose QB, Justin Leduc, will gain a lot of yards and put the Saint-Joseph defence to the test. The Vert et Or slasher, QB Charles Cossette, will need to produce a lot of points to outscore the Scorpions. Cossette has been adding up a surprising amount of yards in passing and rushing, while being supported by RB Philippe Morin. The clash will end with a tight score, but the Scorpions should prevail.

Collège de Lévis Commandeurs (5-3) vs Collège Laval Maraudeurs (8-0) The two defensive units will have their plate full, mainly the secondary’s, because two bomb launchers are aligned on each team. Lévis is fortunate to have two sack leaders, Vincent Michaud and Pierre-Olivier Lefebvre, who both produced 7 sacks each, but the Laval defence collected 14 picks and 23 sacks, and these factors might come into play in this QB dual. The number two ranked QB Tristan Blais of the Commandeurs, challenging the number one QB Jonathan Sénécal of the Maraudeurs. Blais is the multipurpose athlete that passed for 2071 yards and rushed for 1125 yards, which places him number 2 rusher of the division. He completed 16 passes for majors and rushed for 10 touchdowns, but the downfall is the 10 interceptions in 198 attempts. He can also rely on RB Gabriel Leblond, who finished third with 1005 yards and averaging 8.4 per carry, to destabilise the Maraudeurs defenders. His counterpart, Sénécal, amassed 2160 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and only 2 picks in 263 attempts, which is pretty amazing and provides a priceless element of security for the team. These two teams are used to scoring a lot of points and fast, but the edge goes to Laval considering they had a bye week, their unyielding defensive unit and their advantage of playing at home.
