#CFC50 High-school (juv. div. 1/1b) preview: [4]: Who will remain undefeated?

The clash of the season, the undefeated Blizzard visit Notre-Dame who also has a clean record! Who will remain scoreless? Big games with huge effects.

Académie Les Estacades (0-3) vs École Secondaire Roger-Comtois Patriotes (0-2)

Les Estacades has been struggling on offence and putting a lot of pressure on their defence, which has battled strong offences the last three games. Roger-Comtois can compete with their offence producing at full strength, but will have to work hard for their first win. The Patriotes will score enough points to be 1-2.

École Sec. Curé-Antoine-Labelle Loups (1-1) vs École Secondaire Triolet Harfangs (2-1)

The rested Loups will travel to Sherbrooke to visit a confident Harfangs team that won their last outing with an impressive 41-9. The Loups will have to stop QB/RB Lukas Boulanger, who completed 11 of 21, 3 touchdowns passes and rushed for 32 yards in just 4 carries. Predicting that the rest will have paid-off for the Curé-Antoine-Labelle offensive crew, who will deliver the needed amount of points to get their second win of the season.

Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard (3-0) vs Collège Notre-Dame Cactus (3-0)

These two teams played for the championship last season and will probably meet in that game again this year. Although, this weekend they are facing each other to decide who will keep a zero in its record. The Blizzard’s offensive attack will be challenged for the first time this season and it will need all of it’s weapons to be sharp. The Notre-Dame defence has held its opponents to a mere total of 31 points and their offence manages the clock very well. The QB match up goes to Saint-François, who has Raphaël Latulippe being almost perfect every game and Notre-Dame’s QB, Mitchell Parr, having only completed 15 out 40 attempts and a minimal 159 yards. For the running game, both team’s RBs are almost identical. Notre-Dame’s Théodore Seaborn leads the league with 469 yards, while Saint-François’ Kalenga Muganda is just behind with 421 yards. The Blizzard’s defence hasn’t been tested yet, but their passing game will be the dominant factor that will enable them to be 4-0 and lead the division for the remainder of the season, which should be an undefeated one again, for the second year in a row.

Saint-Jean-Eudes Condors (1-1) vs Académie Saint-Louis Arsenal (1-2)

The Arsenal offence totalled 484 yards last week and surprised the Aigles defence. Look for them to defy the Condors’ defence with QB/RB Charles Goulet and RB Jacob Verret, who gained 149 yards last week. The Saint-Jean-Eudes offence, led by QB Jérôme Rancourt, relies heavily on RB Émile Malenfant. The Condors’ defence will stop the charge of Goulet and Verret, but Malenfant will provide his team enough yardage and points to win this one.

Séminaire Saint-Joseph Vert et Or (2-1) vs École Sec. Pointe-Lévy Corsaires (2-0)

The Vert et Or defence won’t be able to stop the Corsaires’ superman, QB/RB Adrien Guay who does everything,  kicking converts, punts and kick-offs, while completing 38 out of 74 for 564 yards with 6 touchdown passes and no interceptions, in just 2 games. The question is, will Saint-Joseph’s QB/RB Charles Cossette, who completed 19 out of 33 for 297 yards and rushed for 12 yards including a major last week, be able to score enough points and be mistake free to beat the Corsaires? The answer is no and Pointe-Lévy will remain undefeated.

Polyvalente Deux-Montagnes Centurions (0-3) vs Collège Laval Maraudeurs (2-0)

This won’t be pretty and should be a short one. Just back from a bye week, the Maraudeurs will dominate this from beginning to end with QB Jonathan Sénécal leading the offence.

Collège Charles-Lemoyne Dynamiques (1-2) vs Collège de Lévis Commandeurs (1-2)

The Commandeurs just lost two close games to two good teams and managed to score a lot of points. On the other side, the Dynamiques are not scoring much and have 69 points against which doesn’t put them in favour for this game. The Commandeurs duel threat QB/RB Tristan Blais, who completed 28 out of 39 for 533 yards and rushed for 193 yards last week, will provide the points to win.

École Sec. Armand-Corbeil Scorpions (3-0) vs École Sec. Saint-Stanislas Patriotes (2-0)

The high powered offence of the Scorpions will crush the Patriotes’ defence with dual threat  QB/RB Justin Leduc who is amongst the top QB’s with 676 yards passing and with the number one RB in the division, Danté Tortorici, with 666 yards in only 51 carries. The Pariotes’ offence, with QB Félix Marsolais who completed 11 out of 17 for 170 yards and their minimal running game, is not going to provide the clock management needed to win this confrontation. The Scorpions will stay undefeated.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
