The senior boys Bluevale Knights of the Waterloo County Secondary School Athletics Association (WCSSAA) are hoping for bigger and better things after finishing with a 3-3 record last season and missing out on playoff action. They have one goal in mind for this year.
āImprove on last year’s regular season results,ā said Knights Head Coach Christopher Wolf.
The Knightsā biggest strength will be their coachability. On the other hand, an area of weakness will be the fact that theyāre undersized. So they will have to find a way to compensate for that.
Their most important game of the season will be against the SJAM Highlanders in the Spirit of Waterloo Game.
Ryan Berkin, Drew Ferguson and Garret Huras are key players who will be returning this season. The Knights have some new faces on their squad as well, including Drew Kern, Jordan Schmidt and Maverick Venter.
Unfortunately, Jon Kulker is a vital player who wonāt be coming back this year. The Knights have six returning starters on offence and five returning starters on defence.
There isnāt one particular player who will be an āXā for the Knights, as Wolf firmly believes that āfootball is a team game.ā
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
