The St. Francis Browns enters this season following an undefeated campaign which resulted in a provincial championship and landed them on the top of the #CFC50 list. The Browns lost their starting QB, but return a number of starters on both sides of the ball that would be considered legitimate university prospects. These prospects feature two #CFC100 players, one on defense, one on offense. The big question with the Browns is, will they repeat and stay undefeated for the second year in a row.

Ranked #1 on the #CFC50 high school rankings list for Canada, the big question surrounding the Browns is, can they replace their starting QB DesΒ Catellier so they can maximize players likeΒ #CFC100 JacobΒ Izqueirdo. Izqueirdo is one of the top slotbacks and Special Teams players in all of Canada. He has size, speed, a feel for the game, and it helps that he comes from a football family.

The receiving core also features AlexΒ Groshak who is a legitimate CIS prospect. No doubt the Browns will be balanced on offense as they always seem to have a running back who can make plays.

The defense will be anchored by LBΒ #CFC100 Joe Dutton who is arguably one of the top inside LB prospects in the country for Class 2017. Dutton has played on the provincial All-Star team as well as Team Canada. Dutton is big, tall, rangy, and has outstanding football instincts.

Also adding to this defense is cover LBΒ Noah McDonough who is dynamic enough to play LB and/or safety. He’s not a true in the box player, however, when playing in space, he seems to make one big play after another.

When Coach Park was asked what the team’s expectations were for this year, his was response was, “defending provincial champions”.

The expectations are clear for this very talented and experienced football team. They have all the pieces in place to continue their impressive run at the top of the #CFC50.
