#CFC50 (QC-juv. div. 1/1b) RECAP [6]: The Blizzard swiped the Condors

Cactus kicker, Antoine Couture, provides win over rivals! The Maraudeurs remain undefeated!

Jean-Eudes  RB #15 Alexandre Gravel

Collège Jean-Eudes Aigles (2-3) vs Académie Les Estacades (2-4) Without their starting QB the Aigles offence took some time to find its rhythm, but replacement pivot, Étienne Laurence-Gervais completed 11 out of 22 for 12 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions and a rushing touchdown. The Estacades offence could only generate yardage on the ground with RB Mathieu Leboeuf, who piled up 166 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown. Defensively, both teams shared numerous sacks, Jean-Eudes with 5 and Estacades with 3, and Laurence-Gervais was intercepted twice. Meanwhile, Jean-Eudes WR Alexandre Gravel scored a receiving touchdown and a kickoff return for a major giving the Aigle the winning edge of 21 to 14.

Notre-Dame kicker #2 Antoine Couture

Collège Notre-Dame Cactus (5-1) vs École Sec. Curé-Antoine-Labelle Loups (2-3) Well, Curé-Antoine-Labelle almost pulled it off. Two safeties and a field goal for Notre-Dame kicker Antoine Couture helped secure the win. The Loups defence held the Cactus passing game to 46 yards, including a pick, but had some difficulties stopping the run. Notre-Dame’s RB, Théodore Seaborn, rushed for 177 yards on 34 carries and ran over the goal line twice to help his team win this rivalry game by the mark of 20-17.

Roger-Comtois DB #4 Jérémi Pelletier

Académie Saint-Louis Arsenal (1-5) vs École Sec. Roger-Comtois Patriotes (1-4) These are the kind of games you enjoy watching. Good defences making plays and some points scored to excite the crowd. The Arsenal offence scored enough points to win it with QB/RB Charles Goulet completing 12 out of 31 for 269 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 picks and a rushing touchdown, even though RB Jacob Verret was limited to 34 yards rushing. The Saint-Louis defence did its part with LB Enzo Pepe-Esposito leading the charge with 6.5 total tackles and a pick returned for a major. The Patriotes defence also returned an interception for a TD, delivered by DB Jérémi Pelletier. In the end, the Arsenal defence could not stop the Patriotes running attack, which compiled 195 yards and RB Gabriel Savard had 104 to his name with two touchdowns to bring the score to 27-32 in favour of the Patriotes who finally get their first win.

Saint Jean-Eudes Condors (3-2) vs Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard (5-0) This rivalry goes back a long time and a Cup was named to represent both schools; the Prémont-Boulé Cup. The Condors’ offence did not generate any momentum and the defence was overwhelmed with RB Kalenga Muganda, who finished the day with 276 yards on 11 carries and 4 touchdowns. At the half, the scoreboard indicated 56-7 for the Séminaire Saint-François and QB Raphael Latulippe had completed 10 out of 15 for 135 yards with 3 touchdown passes. But the Blizzard defence, directed by LB Étienne Amiot, was impenetrable. The Blizzard remain undefeated with a dominating victory of  59-7 and bring the Prémont-Boulé Cup home for the third year in a row.

Juvénile 1b

École Sec. Jacques-Rousseau Sphinx (0-5) vs École Sec. Armand-Corbeil Scorpions (5-1) The Scorpion’s were without their number one ball carrier and RB Mathieu Vachon, carried the load with 14 touches for 126 yards. But the damage was not on the ground this week for Armand-Corbeil, it was QB Justin Leduc that generated 254 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Sphinx offence could not get anything going and they remain winless with this 33-0 loss.

Charles-Lemoyne RB #4 Raphael Gentile and QB #10 Gabriel Cyr-Dandurand

Collège Charles-Lemoyne Dynamiques (3-3) vs Poly. Deux-Montagnes Centurions (0-5) The Centurions offence was able to produce some momentum with QB, Olivier Pineault, completing 11 out of 27 for 139 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception, and RB Vincent Desjardins rushing for 107 yards on 9 carries. But the Deux-Montagnes defence had it rough trying to stop the Dynamiques QB, Gabriel Cyr-Dandurand, who completed 10 out of 17 for 205 yards, 3 touchdowns, while rushing for 90 yards and scoring a major. Helping Cyr-Dandurand was RB, Raphael Gentile, gained 97 yards on 9 carries. The Charles-Lemoyne defence did sack Pineault twice and forced a 29-12 victory over winless Centurions.

Collège de Lévis Commandeurs (3-3) vs Collège Laval Maraudeurs (5-0) The Maraudeurs remain undefeated and did face an offence, guided by QB/RB Tristan Blais who completed 22 out of 39 for 464 yards including 4 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and rushed for 31 yards on 8 carries, that threatened their secondary. The Lévis running game was stunned by the Laval defence.  The Maraudeurs offence and its general, QB Jonathan Sénécal, delivered a thumping and dominated the Commandeurs’ defence to conclude this one at 68-35 and stay on top.

Saint-Stanislas DB #26 Hugo Champagne

École Sec. Pointe-Lévy Corsaires (2-3) vs École Sec. Saint-Stanislas Patriotes (3-2) The Corsaires passing game was dominated by the Patriotes defence who came away with 5 interceptions, two of which were attributed to DB Hugo Champagne who brought one back for a TD. The Saint-Stanislas’ running game piled up 253 yards, controlled the clock and scored 4 touchdowns to end this one at 51-9 for a third win this season.
