#CFCHSFB (ONT – GBSSA): 2015 SCAA Playoffs Recap

The 2015 high school season in Simcoe County was a little different than in years past. This year, the catholic schools of Simcoe County, members of the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) were separated from the Simcoe County Athletic Association (SCAA) and joined the newly-formed Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County (CSASC). This made for a slightly altered, slightly more confusing, but more entertaining playoff format that allowed teams to play at least one extra game than in previous years, and gave squads the opportunity to capture two different regional championships in the same year.

After an intriguing regular season, the playoffs have been an equally wild ride. The 2015-post season has seen it all. We have seen blow outs, nail-bitters, upsets, and even one school’s 100-year legacy of football come to an end.

Winners of the SCAA and CSASC meet for the Georgian Bay Secondary School Athletics (GBSSA) Championship. The winner of the Senior GBSSA title advances to Ontario Federation of Secondary Athletics Association (OFSAA); the winner of the junior GBSSA Championship advances to Central Ontario Bowl Game
