#CFCHSFB PREVIEW (ONT – DURHAM): Undefeated #CFC50 foes reignite rivalry

Rivalry games make football go. Be it the Packers and Bears, GiGi’s and Ravens, or the Saints and the Titans, fans can agree these games add something to the sport. This Wednesday October 28th the CFC#37 Titans and CFC#12 Paul Dwyer Saints will meet again looking to preserve the 0 in each of their loss columns to finish the season a perfect 6-0.

This rivalry is a relatively new one, yet it has organically grown into on of the more bitter rivalries in Ontario. The proximity of these schools mean a lot of players know each other and the success of both programs makes the game a must win. When one adds a trophy (Knights Of Columbus Cup) the animosity only grows.

The Titans boast their traditional powers, a strong ground game complimented with a strong defence. The Titans return reigning LOSSA MVP in running back Nathan Jones who runs behind a veteran offense line that has only lost one starter dating back to last years week two matchup, one the Saints took in dominating fashion.

The running game and defense will be pivotal in this game for the Titans, who’s best strategy would be to try and keep the Saint offence on the sidelines, where they cannot score. Running can also be a factor because the game day forecast is calling for a lot of rain, which Β turns the field into a muddy quagmire.

For the Saints, they’re defense must look to stop a ground game that has been running wild in recent weeks, though the Saint defense will be the best they’ve played in those recent weeks. If the Saints offence can get on the field often, then they have a better chance of wearing down a Titans defense that has not allowed a point in two weeks.

This game is sure to be a hard fought game as both teams have brought their “A game” in recent years and will not disappoint any of those brave enough to battle the elements to watch two of LOSSA’s best battle it out for the Knights Of Colmbus Cup, a 6-0 record and most importantly, first place.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
