#CFCHSFB PREVIEW (ONT – Waterloo): Phoenix’s offensive and defensive front seven are vital

The senior boys Resurrection Phoenix are hoping to continue their winning ways after last week’s 36-7 romp over the St. David’s Celtics.

Their opponent this week is the St. Mary’s Eagles. The Phoenix didn’t play the Eagles last season as they were in different divisions.

The Phoenix excel on offence and defence.

“Our offensive and defensive front seven are our biggest strengths,” said Resurrection Phoenix Head Coach Matt Gallagher.

There are certain aspects of their team that need to continue to evolve though.

“We have a young group of receivers and defensive backs who are improving every week,” commented Gallagher.

The Phoenix have a few offensive players who are expected to break out against the Eagles this week.

“Quarterback David Aiken and slotback Tyler Malloch both had strong games last week,” added Gallagher. “Also, slotback Gordon Lam is a player we need to account for.”

They know that they need to be firing on all cylinders to win against the Eagles.

“In order to be successful, we need to win in all three phases of the game,” stated Gallagher. “Ball security and creating turnovers will be the biggest factor in determining the outcome.”

The Eagles are hosting the game on Friday, October 9th at 3:00 pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
