Maximus Di Diomede has been playing football for six seasons and has had an unbelievable experience thus far.
“I have truly fallen in love with the game of football,” said Maximus.
He has played two seasons in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) with the Hamilton Ironmen, and is currently in his first season of high school football with the St. Thomas More Knights in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic Athletic (HCWAA).
The defensive back has also already competed in an Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC).
“My goals in OPC is to better my skills as a football player by playing with and against players at the same or better skill level than me,” commented the Knight.
Maximus does not have much of an offseason because he is playing football 10 months out of the year, but playing so much football helps him bring up his skill level all the time and keeps him physically healthy.
On the field his role model is his brother, Vinny Di Diomede.
“He is my role model because like me, he has always been the smallest guy on the field, but that never stopped him,” explained the Knight. “My brother always played the game with a passion and always worked so I always try to do the same things he has in football.”
Maximus loves football because it has given him drive to better myself and I have fun playing it.
“I love every aspect of the game from practicing to playing,” added the Knight. “Just to be on a football field makes me happy.”
