Ethan Quinsay’s football career began in Grade 6 with the peewee Burlington Junior Stampeders. He then moved on to play on the rep team for the bantam Burlington Stampeders throughout Grade 7 and 8 in both the summer and fall seasons.

Currently, Ethan plays in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA) for the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders junior team. The centre also participated in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) for Halton-Peel last year.

For this year’s OPC, the Raider has several goals such as, challenging and pushing himself to the best of his abilities, practice and play football with many other elite players within Ontario, and expand his knowledge of football and develop his football IQ by learning different aspects of the sport.

He is also looking forward to having the opportunity to challenge himself and compete at a high level while building up his football experience and learning from great coaches.

During the offseason, Ethan attends Overtime Football camp run by Courtney Stephen, as well as other football related camps and has worked with a personal trainer.

The Raider also plays other sports such as hockey and skiing, and stays in shape with at home workouts.

β€œMy favourite football role model is Adrian Peterson from the Minnesota Vikings because he is a hard worker who pushes through adversity to overcome challenges,” said Ethan. β€œHe is an elite running back in the NFL and is one of the top rushing leaders every year.”

Peterson received Comeback Athlete of the Year after recovering from an ACL tear and herniated groin within a year.

β€œI admire his dedication, perseverance and his football skills,” added the centre.

Ethan loves to play football because it is a sport that allows him to use his entire athletic prowess.

β€œIt is also a true team sport because every individual needs to do their job in order for the team to succeed,” commented the Raider. β€œI like being able to contribute my skills to help the team succeed.”

β€œI also enjoy the bonding experience with my teammates and the feeling of brotherhood that we have,” continued Ethan. β€œMostly I like it because it is fun.”
